Soul Space

Our world is not necessarily quiet.  At least quiet enough to find some space – some of what I like to call soul space.  I think it’s possible, though.  If we make space.  I am a Type A list-making person.  I can always find something to do to fill my daily space.  But recently, I’ve been reminded of the goodness of finding quiet, breathing deeper, putting down the list, and seeing what happens.  This can be a scary place for the planner or the anxious or anyone who doesn’t like the unknown. I can relate to all, but, friends, it could be the space where you discover the realest parts of your existence.  This could be so powerful and profound for some.

Why do we busy ourselves, why do we scroll through our phones, why do we filter and edit for others when the Lover of our soul just wants us to quiet ourselves a little bit each day?  I’m taking a new step in life to listen to what I’ve heard in my soul space so we can all go all this journey together.  Each day will be a little something – a challenge, a new way of looking at something in life, an exercise in the art of listening, encouragement, but I desire that this be a place for new spiritual growth, a deepening, a newfound connection for you to God so he can meet you where you are at in life.  He is there.  I promise.

 Reflection:

-Do I prioritize quiet space in my life?
-Am I more concerned with what I do or who I am?
-How do I feel about the unknown?
-Would I rather be distracted or aware? Why?
-Spend 5-30 minutes in quiet (whatever you are comfortable with).  Write about your experience.
